It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Wilson on November 6th in the warmth of her own home, surrounded by her loving family. Betty leaves behind her two daughters, Cheryl (Dave) Zehnder and Carolyn (Michael) Hrusko, as well as her cherished granddaughters, Rachelle and Danielle Zehnder. She is also survived by her longtime partner Pete D'Ambrosio, who brought much love and laughter in her life.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Diane Szalankiewicz, her first born son, George Wilson, and her two brothers, George and Alexander Mudrick.
Betty ran The Orbit Inn for over 50 years, bringing people together and creating countless memories. She assumed the family business from her parents and dedicated herself to providing a place for locals to gather, enjoy a beer and one of her famous fish sandwiches. When she was not working, Betty loved spending time with her dog, Mia, enjoying a Sunday shopping trip, and sharing an occasional margarita with friends. Betty will be remembered for the generosity she showed her family and friends, her unwavering strength, and her unshakable love for her family.
She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
