Fred Dominick

Fred Dominick, 91, of Economy passed away on January 24,2023 at Good Sanitarian Hospice, Beaver. He was the son of the late Marion and Josephine Dominick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Miketa, siblings, Rosario “Ross” Dominick, Sam Dominick, and Elizabeth Grillo. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nancy Edwards Dominick, his daughter, Lori (James) Hartge, sister, Delores (William) Baker, son-in-law, Eugene Miketa, grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Miketa, Justin (Allison) Miketa, Amanda (Brandon) Gaydosh, and Ashley (Zack) Fetchin, great grandchildren, Alex, Dallas, Blakely, Laynee, Banks, and many nieces and nephews.

Fred retired from Armco Steel as a millwright. He loved working with his hands, tinkering with his Model A, and was always there to lend a hand with any construction project for his family, or his Florida family. One of Fred’s passions was music. He was a lead singer and played base guitar with his band “The Melody Four” during the 1960’s through the 1980’s for weddings, banquets, and club events. He was a member of the Baden United Methodist Church Choir for many years. He belonged to the Baden Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years, serving as Chief in 1974 and 1975. He also held the position as building inspector for the Borough of Baden.

Fred and Nancy loved camping with their daughters and enjoyed many years at Holiday Camplands. They later became snowbirds to Ft. Myers Florida for the past 20 years. He will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 2-4PM and 5-8PM in the Alvarez -Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation LLC, 547 8th St, Ambridge, 724-266-2549. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday January 28, 2023 from 9AM until time of funeral service at 9:30AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
