Gloria Jean Heitzenrater, 70, of Ambridge, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Barbara Jasinski.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her uncles, Michael “Moe” Stuban, Fred Stolich, and Edward Jasinski; her aunts, Mildred “Mickey” Stuban, Doris Stolich, Rose Jasinski, Catherine Lazorski, Mary Budkey, Frances Brodish, and Elizabeth Jasinski; her cousin, Steven Stuban; and her niece, Kelly Heitzenrater
Gloria is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Douglas Heitzenrater; her daughter, Stacy Heitzenrater-Gorecki; her brother, Jason (Deborah) Jasinski; her cherished grandchildren, Alyssa and Austin Gorecki; her nieces and nephews, Amy (Robert) Clouse, Jeannette (Shane) Dobbins, and David (Athena) Jasinski; her special goddaughter, Kimberly Heitzenrater; and many treasured great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
A 1973 graduate of Ambridge High School, Gloria dedicated much of her life to serving others. She worked for many years at Herman’s Bakery and spent more than 30 years at Eat'n Park, where she welcomed guests with her warm smile. Gloria enjoyed visiting casinos and taking trips to try her luck. She was a devoted fan of Elvis Presley and enjoyed watching Elvis impersonators perform. She treasured family camping trips and, above all, adored her grandchildren. One of her proudest moments was throwing out the first pitch at a Pittsburgh Pirates game in recognition of her 25 years of service with Eat’n Park.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford for the exceptional care provided to Gloria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford or to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC, 547 8th Street, Ambridge. The full obituary may be viewed at alvarezhahnfs.com.
