Lucy H. Moussa passed away on April 13, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Cairo, Egypt to the late Hafazalla Rafla Hafazalla and Laila Tawfek Abdelmalek. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dr. John Moussa.
Lucy is survived by her husband, Dr. Samir Moussa, her beloved daughter, Monica (Michael) Walaan, and her precious grandsons, Gabriel and Noah Walaan. She is also survived by her sisters, Suzan Rafla and Violet Rafla, and her cherished nieces and nephews.
Lucy spent her entire career, over 30 years, with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. She served as an Environmental Engineer, where she ensured the quality and safety of our drinking water.
Lucy lived a life dedicated to God. She served faithfully in the church and loved sharing the love of Christ with everyone she encountered. She always exemplified grace, gentleness, and thanksgiving in all of her circumstances.
A funeral will be held on April 23, 2025 at 11:30 am at St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church of Pittsburgh, 995 Melrose Ave, Ambridge, PA 15003. The burial will take place immediately following at Mount Royal Cemetery, 2700 Mount Royal Blvd, Glenshaw, PA 15116. The family will share in a fellowship meal at St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church following the burial. Services entrusted to Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC.
