Otis “Uncle Sam” Smith Jr., 68, of Ambridge, passed away on January 5, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents Georgella and Otis Smith Sr, and mother Beatrice Kimbrough. He was also preceded by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Birdie Bratton; uncles, Phillip, Luther, and Henry Bratton; an aunt, Carrie McIver; and nephew, Phillip James Bratton.
Surviving are his sisters, Lucille “Candy” Williams and Roberta “Wendy” Kimbrough; brother, Phillip (Pamela) Bratton; nieces and nephews, Mikee (Kelly) Williams, Maury (Vena) Willaims, Damon (Jaime) Bratton, Darnell (Tracy) Bratton, Teylore Bratton, Sheree Bratton, Devonte Allison, and Durann Allison; and numerous great nieces and nephews; special friends, Roger Fike, Blue and Mike Jeter; and his beloved dog, Ashley.
Otis was a crane man at Hussy Copper for 13 years. He then worked for Ambridge Borough Road crew for 18 years, then at Allegheny County Schools for 9 years working with children with special needs.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 4:00 PM until time of the funeral service at 6:00 PM at the Alvarez-Hahn Funeral Services and Cremation, LLC 547 8th Street, Ambridge.
